While reflecting on the past year, we have certainly seen many hardships and challenges. With all the difficulties this year has brought, there are also many things to be thankful for, such as communities all over the world coming together to help one another, our ability to adapt to change, and new opportunities. Here is a list of things we’re thankful for this new year:

The St. Louis Community. Many local businesses have been dramatically affected by the restrictions set in place this year because of the pandemic. Dining at restaurants and shopping in person at local businesses has been difficult, but we have seen a huge outpouring of support for many of these businesses from our local community.

At the beginning of the pandemic, we made a video of some of our employees enjoying their favorite local restaurants. Check out the video here!

New Business Strategies. While no one was necessarily prepared for this year, it’s inspiring to see how quickly we’ve adapted to this new change. With curbside pickup, outdoor dining, and new online ordering systems, we have seen so much support for many local businesses. Also, many people have started working from home this year. We’re proud of our employees who have been working from home and have continued to uphold our high productivity standards every day.

New Opportunities. At CD Companies, we work with many different industries. There are some industries we have seen struggle this year much more than others, and that has certainly affected us. However, while we had to put a hold on some projects this year, we’ve seen new opportunities come our way as well. For example, the grocery industry is thriving and we’re fortunate to have some new clients in the industry. One of the most recent grocery projects our team has worked on is a new Dierbergs Market in Lake Saint Louis. Read more about this project here.

Most importantly, we’re thankful for the health and wellbeing of our team. We’re fortunate to have the hard-working and supportive team that we do, especially during a time like this. With all the challenges this year has presented our company with, we’re thankful for the ability of our employees to collaborate virtually and the new opportunities we’ve had.

There is no doubt that this year has been a tough one, but it’s important to reflect on the good things that have happened and the lessons learned. What are some of the positive things that have happened to you or your company this year?

Wishing everyone a safe and happy New Year, and a much better 2021!
